Ordering Architrave at Skirting UK

We have two options types when it comes to ordering architrave from Skirting UK; lengths and sets. We have these two different options so our customers can order in a style which suits them. Whether that be working out the number of door sides you need to cover, or you know the total meterage of what you need.

Architrave Lengths

We sell our architrave in 3 different size lengths. These are 2400mm, 3050mm, 4200mm. You should order using lengths if you have worked out the total linear meters that you need to cover all of your doors. You would then divide this number by either ‘2.4’, ‘3.05’ or ‘4.2’. The number you then get, you will need to round up to the nearest whole number. This will be how many lengths you need to cover your job.

Example:

If you need 49 linear meters, and you would like to order your architrave in 2400mm lengths, then you would do the sum:

49 divided by 2.4 = 20.416.

You would then round this up to 21, meaning you would need 21 lengths of 2400mm.

Architrave Sets

When ordering architrave, the pieces are commonly referred to as legs and heads. The legs are the two lengths on either side of the door and the head will go across the top.

Please note: A set covers 1 side of a door, so if you want to cover both sides, you will need 2 sets.

Single-door architrave sets

When you order a single-door set, this will cover 1 side of a single-width door. (Where only one door opens.)

The two lengths that are referred to as the legs will be 2400mm long, and you choose a height of either 70mm or 95mm and a depth of 15mm, 18mm or 25mm.

The ‘head’ will be 1200mm in length and will also be the chosen height and depth. However, when ordering multiple single-door sets, rather than receiving two lengths of 1200mm, a length of 2400mm may be given instead.

Double-door architrave sets

Below shows what is meant by a ‘Double Door’. We have had customers who believed that a double-door set was meant for both sides of a single doorway. However, that is not correct and a double-door set is in fact for a ‘double-doorway’. This would mean two standard-size doors can be fitted in the doorway, it could be for a french door or even a large opening as shown below.

For a door set, you will receive 3 lengths of 2400mm. This means that the legs and the head will be the same size, giving you enough to go around one side of a double doorway.

We hope that this has everything covered for you, however, if you have any further questions or queries about the architrave at Skirting UK, do not hesitate to give us a call at 01212894940 or send us an email at enquiries@skirtinguk.com.
