When we list our products as ‘Skirting board’ ‘Dado-rail’ etc, that does not go to say, that is their only possibility. We have had some interesting ideas sent to us by our customers and we thought we would share them! If you have done something creative, feel free to let us know and you may be featured in our gallery!
The Walkers Fireplace
Ingrid has used Profile IV skirting in each corner of her fireplace which adds interesting details to the fireplace. Additionally, they have used Profile IV architrave around the inside of the fireplace also.
This being a prime example of how our MDF mouldings can be used elsewhere.
Ingrid has featured many images of her home on her Instagram page for you to see.
This image shows how a customer has used Victorian dado rail and architrave to create a panelling, wainscotting effect in their lounge. They have pained the bottom half of their wall to match the skirting, architrave and dado rail. Contrasting against their grey walls above. Great styling for a period style home.
For this one, the skirting and architrave have kept their normal roles, however, what is different here is the colour! In most cases, the MDF mouldings are painted white. However, here Lucy has had her skirting, architrave and door in an eggshell grey paint. We think this looks great and is becoming increasingly popular for renovations!

Another customer has played with colour in their clients home by having their tall colonial skirting the same colour as their wall creating a flush effect. They painted this using ‘Farrow and Ball Inchyra Blue’.
A customer building their dream home has gone the extra mile with all their details. To add more definition to their doorway, they have had their own bespoke architrave created as well as bringing out their doorways with panelling. Great designing to give the room something extra! (We will have a very similar architrave available soon at Skirting UK)
